Risk of Rain inspired one of my favorite new roguelikes, and it's getting a huge update and console ports a year after blowing up on Steam
Shape of Dreams, probably the closest any roguelike has come to the Risk of Rain experience, is coming to PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2 thanks to console ports shadowdropped during today's Xbox Tokyo Game Show showcase. Billed as an action roguelike with combat inspired by MOBAs, Shape of Dreams launched on Steam last September and quickly became one of the biggest success stories for Neowiz, best known as the creator of Lies of P and publisher of other indie hits like DJMax Respect

James Pond Legacy Situation Is More Than Meets The AI
Last month, System 3 Software released a trailer for James Pond Legacy, a four-game collection for Nintendo Switch 2. But the gameplay footage was largely overshadowed by accusations its developer used generative AI to create the game's promotional artwork and cover. System 3 followed this trailer up with a blog post asserting that generative AI was not used in the development process for James Pond Legacy, but some wires were evidently crossed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFggndxGZk0

24 years later, one of the most influential Japanese games of all time becomes one of the highest-rated Steam games of 2026

The Duskbloods Was A No-Show At The September Nintendo Direct And Now I’m Worried
The Duskbloods, From Software's new game and one of the Switch 2's biggest exclusives, was missing-in-action during the September Nintendo Direct. That normally wouldn't be too shocking, except for the fact The Duskbloods is still slated to release this year. With less than four months to go until the end of the year, the window for The Duskbloods is closing.
